Gallery by Robert Proch (2010) To Be Shown at This Year Ottawa Festival

A while ago, in June me thinks, I presented here a very special piece of Polish animation – Virus by Robert Proch.  And a couple of days ago I learnt the artist’s new film, Gallery (2010) had been accepted in competition at Ottawa Festival.

According to Polish film website Stopklatka.pl, Gallery was shown in Toronto, Canada as a part of World Short Film Festival programme and was even awarded an honourable mention in the best animated short category. Later on the film was invited to Ottawa competition.

Summary: A pit bull’s patience is tested as his owner is drawn towards both the endless offerings in a surreal shopping centre and the affections of a classy dame. A seamless and artfully illustrative animation.

Even though I have not found even an extract from the film online, you still have a chance to see it as it’s been screened at various events worldwide. Just after World Short Film Festival, it went to the festival competition in Huesca followed by Polish Shorts screening in Vila do Conde, Portugal. In August, the film takes part in two other competitions: Danish Odense and Czech Fresh Film Fest. This will be followed by September screening at Animaanima Festival in Serbia.
